What about the Quadrennial Code of Ethics? The Quadrennial (Quad) Ethics course has nothing to do with renewing your TN or GA real estate license. This course is required by the National Association of REALTORS® as a requirement for membership in the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). NAR requires that all of their members take an ethics course (that meets their requirements) one time every four (4) years. This started in the year 2001. Each 4 year period is known as a “cycle”. We are now in Cycle 3. Cycle 1: Jan 1, 2001- Dec 31, 2004 Cycle 2: Jan 1, 2005- Dec 31, 2008 Cycle 3: Jan 1, 2009- Dec 31, 2012 Cycle 4: Jan 1, 2013- Dec 31, 2016 If you have NOT completed the Quad Ethics course during the time period of January 1, 2009- the date you are reading this – then you must complete the course before December 31, 2012. |
